Track time and calculate overtime
The Work Hours Calculator helps you track your weekly work hours by entering clock-in and clock-out times for each day along with break durations. It totals your regular hours, identifies overtime (hours exceeding 40 per week), and gives you a complete summary for timesheet or payroll purposes.
Many hourly workers, freelancers, and small business owners need a quick way to tally weekly hours without a full time-tracking platform. This tool gives you that functionality in a simple, no-signup format. Enter your times for each day of the week, and the totals calculate automatically.
The calculator handles common scenarios like different shift lengths on different days, lunch breaks of varying duration, and the 40-hour overtime threshold used in standard US labor calculations.
Any hours exceeding 40 in a single week are counted as overtime. This follows the standard US overtime threshold. The regular hours cap at 40, and everything above is shown separately.
The tool uses the standard 40-hour threshold. Different thresholds for specific industries or regions are not currently supported.
Enter your clock-in and clock-out times as listed on your timecard. If your shift crosses midnight, make sure the times reflect the actual hours worked for that day.
The data you enter persists in your browser session. Closing the tab or clearing browser data will reset the entries.
