Geolocation and ISP info
The IP Address Lookup tool retrieves geolocation information for any IP address, including the approximate country, city, region, ISP (Internet Service Provider), time zone, and coordinates. It can also show your own current IP address and its associated location data.
This is useful for network diagnostics, understanding where website visitors come from, verifying VPN connections, checking the geographic location tied to an IP for compliance purposes, and general curiosity about IP-based geolocation.
The tool uses the ipapi.co API to retrieve location data. Geolocation accuracy varies: country-level identification is typically very accurate, while city-level data may be approximate depending on the ISP and how IP addresses are allocated in that region.
Country-level accuracy is typically 95-99%. City-level accuracy varies from 50-80% depending on the ISP and region. IP geolocation provides an approximate location, not a precise street address.
ISPs assign IP addresses from pools that may be registered in a different city than where you are physically located. This is normal and does not indicate a problem.
The tool supports both IPv4 and IPv6 address lookups, depending on what the underlying API supports.
